The benefits of having a doula have been scientifically proven.A Cochrane Review of over 15,000 women showed that continuous labor support from a doula decreased Pitocin use by 31%, decreased cesarean risk by 38%, decreased the risk of NICU stay by 14%, decreased the use of pain medication by 9%, increased the chances of spontaneous vaginal delivery by 12%, and decreased the chances of a woman being dissatisfied with her birth experience by 34%.

Credentials.
Sarah Gotlund is a DONA Certified Doula and Certified Lactation Counselor. DONA International is the oldest and most well known doula certifying organization in the world. Sarah received her CLC training from Healthy Children Project Center for Breastfeeding and received highest marks from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice on both her written exam and practical evaluation. Sarah is also a certified Basic Life Support(BLS) provider which includes infant, child, and adult CPR.
